RAWALPINDI: A delegation of defence committees from the Senate and the National Assembly visited the General Headquarters on Monday, said a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The delegation also held a session with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

The lawmakers were given a detailed briefing on the evolving security situation, including the situation on the country's borders.

The delegation was led by Senator Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum, and also laid a wreath at the Martyr's monument.

The session concluded with a resolve to continue the struggle against the menace of violent extremism through a synergetic national approach based on the principle of “collective potential and shared responsibility”, added the ISPR.
