KARACHI: The Pakistan Super League is emerging as one of the big brands in the cricketing world and has become a league attracting top players from around the world.
The improved credibility of the league is attracting bigger names from around the world ahead of the players’ draft for the third edition of Pakistan Super League.
Reliable sources have confirmed that Australian batsman Chris Lynn and the fearsome pacer Mitchell Johnson have agreed to be part of Pakistan Super League’s third edition.
“Along with Lynn and Johnson, South Africa’s JP Duminy has also consented to be part of PSL 3,” the source added.
27-year-old Lynn, who also represents Big Bash franchise Brisbane Heat, is considered as one of the most sought-after T20 batsmen, with a strike rate of around 148 in the shortest format of the game.
The source added that talks with more players are in the final stage. The list of players for the draft will be sent to franchises very soon.
“Other players who are close to signing the consent include South Africa’s Imran Tahir, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan and Sri Lanka’s Tharanga,” the source revealed.
The players' draft for the third edition of PSL is expected to be held in the mid of October.
