Constitution gives equal rights to every citizen: CJP Nisar

LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar said on Thursday that the Constitution of Pakistan gives equal rights to every citizen of the country.

The chief justice was addressing the women judges conference in Lahore. 

Justice Saqib Nisar in his address said that no judge has the right to give decision through wrongdoing and they are bound to keep law in mind before passing judgment, said 

“We want rule of law in the country,” he said.

The CJP said that hastily dispensed justice is equal to burying it, adding that the quality of justice should be evident.

He said that the Constitution provides the same basic rights to every Pakistani, adding that it is important to know the law and consider things surpassing one's own ideas of justice.

Lahore High Court Chief Justice Justice Mansoor Ali Khan also addressed the gathering, where he said that attempts are being made to ensure a transparent system of justice.

“We acknowledge that women face difficulties in the legal profession,” said Justice Mansoor.

He shared that the latest technology is being introduced to facilitate litigants. 

He further said that 1.2 million court cases are being heard in the province of Punjab.

Justice Mansoor said that the problems of the judges are being resolved on a priority basis.
