KARACHI: Pakistan’s sweetheart Mahira Khan has stripped off her girl-next-door image and is seen in a different avatar in her upcoming movie, Verna.
The movie’s trailer, which was launched in a ceremony on Tuesday, revolves around how certain circumstances change a couple’s life completely. The trailer is all about power, politics, vengeance and violence.
The trailer even evokes female empowerment especially in one scene where Mahira’s character, Sara, remarks: “Main sirf tumhari biwi nahi hun tum se alag ek poori insan hun [I am not just your wife rather a different individual]”.
Mahira, who made her debut with Geo Films’ Bol, has collaborated with ace filmmaker Shoaib Mansoor for the movie. The lead singer of SYMT Haroon Shahid is debuting alongside Mahira in the film.
