QUETTA: Balochistan government on Thursday ordered the police high-ups to ensure clearance of security guards deputed on VIPs duty.
Sources, in the Home department informed that provincial government, in the wake of Punjab Governor Salman Taseer's killing, has issued directives to review the profile of the security guards who are deputed on VIPs duty.
Complete particulars of police personnel including data of their family members, relatives, friends, religious and sect leaning has been sought from the police department, said the sources.
The move is in pursuance of the directives issued by the Interior Ministry, following the ghastly killing of Punjab Governor by his own guard. In line with the same Balochistan government has asked the Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and DPOs of all districts to collect information about police personnel before they are assigned duties with VIPs so that an untoward incident could be prevented in future.
