ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has called a meeting on October 27 to discuss the constituency delimitation and census results with the officials of the law ministry and statistics division, sources informed Geo News on Wednesday.

In a meeting presided by the Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Sardar Raza Khan, the ECP expressed deep concerns over the hiatus it is facing as the institution has not yet been given official census results nor the electoral lists from the relevant government departments.

The chief election commissioner said in the meeting that in case a constitutional amendment for delimitation is not passed soon then there are high chances of a delay in the general elections, due in August next year.

He warned that the ECP would not be held responsible in case of any delay.

The ECP members have decided to raise their concerns in their meeting with officials on October 27.
