PESHAWAR: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Nighat Orakzai was seen on Thursday visiting election camps in Peshawar armed with a sub-machine gun (SMG).

Orakzai is a PPP member of the KP Assembly on a reserved seat for women.

She visited various election camps, both for male and female voters, in NA-4 Peshawar, with the firearm slung over her shoulder.

When reached for comment, the KP lawmaker said the SMG was licensed and she carried it for her security due to threats to her life.
