Some parties have raised their reservations regarding delimitation, he said

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq remarked on Saturday that there is no room for technocracy in the Constitution.

“People who gave gotten suits and sherwanis stitched, their wishes will never be fulfilled,” he claimed while speaking to the media after touring his constituency in Lahore.

On delimitation, he shared that some political parties have raised their reservations and efforts are being made to clear their reservations.

He shared that the parliament session over the issue will be held on December 8, two days before the deadline.

People who can’t come to power through votes are trying their best to derail country’s democracy, he claimed, adding “they will never succeed in their plans.”

When asked about security protocol given to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz president, Sadiq replied: “Nawaz Sharif has started the battle against terrorism, he needs security.”

Nawaz was not being given protocol, just security, he added.

On November 2, Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan had denounced the protocol under which former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was taken to the Punjab House from Islamabad airport Thursday morning.

While posting his criticism on Twitter, Imran questioned Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on allowing such a protocol. He added the incumbent prime minister was showing his involvement in helping Nawaz “save his ill-gotten money”.

Imran also tweeted that it was shameful how a discredited prime minister, who was under trial on financial charges, was given official protocol in Islamabad at the taxpayer’s expense.
