KARACHI: The top leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) met at the Bilawal House here on Saturday evening to discuss the overall political and law and order situation in the country.
According to a press release, taking stock of the situation the PPP leadership pledged support to stand by democracy and democratic institutions. The PPP leaders also asked the government to fulfil its constitutional obligations.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, and Senator Sherry Rehman were present in the meeting.
Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah also briefed the meeting, saying that the security situation in the province was under control. He informed the leadership about steps taken by Sindh government to ensure the safety of the general public and government installations.
