LEAs nab 11 terrorists, recover huge cache of weapons in Balochistan

QUETTA: Security forces on Sunday arrested 11 members of the proscribed Balochistan Republican Army (BRA) and recovered huge caches of arms and ammunition during separate operations in various parts of Balochistan.

The terrorists were nabbed from the Sanni Shoran area in Sibi in an operation under  Radd-ul-Fasaad, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

The Frontier Corps and intelligence agencies recovered the weapons during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Bugti and Dukki.

Four Improvised Explosive Devices were also recovered and later diffused in a separate IBO in Qila Saifullah, said ISPR.

Leas recovered a large cache of weapons and explosives

Earlier in the day, Levies forces and intelligences agencies averted a major terror bid in the Kohlu district in the province and recovered a huge cache of weapons stashed away at a secret hideout.

A large number of weapons and explosives were recovered in the operation conducted in the Kahan area, including 181 RPG-7 rockets and 172 fuses, Deputy Commissioner Kohlu Agha Naveed said in a press conference.

Security forces also recovered an MMRR 75 gun and 80 rounds.

A number of such operations have been conducted in the province where security forces are battling an insurgency said to be supported by hostile agencies.

On November 5, the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and intelligence agencies recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) wing of the army had said.

The IBO, conducted in Channah Nullah and Chatthar area near Dera Murad Jamali, was part of the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad that was launched this year on February 22.

In another operation in October, the FC Balochistan foiled a major terror bid by recovering 1,300 kilogrammes of ammunition in search operations conducted in a number of areas across the province.

The operation was conducted in Kohlu, Ghazi Nullah and Naseerabad.
