RAWALPINDI: Major Hercharn Singh, first Sikh officer of Pakistan Army, got married today at Gurdwara Puja Sahib, Hasan Abdal, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Sunday.
A number of serving and retired officers of Pakistan Army attended the marriage ceremony, the ISPR said in a statement.
In his message, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa also extended his good wishes to Maj Hercharn for his matrimonial life.
Maj Harcharn Singh was commissioned in Pakistan Army in 2007, the statement said.
Pak Army remains a symbol of national integration and respects rights of religious minorities in Pakistan, it added.
