PESHAWAR: Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi, via its social initiative Peshawar Zalmi Foundation, organised on Wednesday the first-of-its-kind wheelchair cricket match in Peshawar.
The match is being held to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The match is being played between KP Zalmi and FATA Zalmi and was promoted by Peshawar Zalmi on social media with the hashtags #AbilityWithDisability and #ZalmiWithAbility.
KP Zalmi won the toss and elected to bat first, in the eight overs-a-side match held at Hayatabad Sports Complex.
Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi had tweeted earlier about the event, explaining the motivation behind the Foundation's decision to organise the match.
Students from schools and colleges in Peshawar are present at the venue to cheer on the teams.
