Merit stabbed to death in written test for govt jobs
MIRPURKHAS: Gross administrative irregularities were observed in written tests held in Mirpurkhas for vacant posts in Finance Department during which talented candidates had to face frustration while others made the most of the opportunity by cheating openly, Geo News reported Sunday.

The written tests were organized at Government Comprehensive High School where about 2000 candidates from Sanghar, Umerkot, Tharparkar and Mirpurkhas appeared for the tests for the posts Auditor, Accountant and Junior Clerk.

When the test began, the students were given question papers and were allowed to go anywhere, even outside the school premises, to solve them. What could be more desirable for the candidates than this kind of opportunity, which they made the most of by using books and cell-phones.

Some students even got into their cars and comfortably solved the papers while the officials of Finance Department remained inside an office and watched the whole episode from there.

When Geo’s reporter tried to obtain their view, they simply put the mike to a side and refused to comment.

In plain words the whole event was a worst example of a cold-blooded murder of merit.
