RAWALPINDI: Imposing ban on the non-traditional processions, Commissioner Rawalpindi, Zahid Saeed has said that only traditional mourning processions would be allowed and warned strict action against the violators.

While presiding over a joint meeting of the Ulema and representatives of Traders Union of Dheri Hassanabad and Lalkurti here, he said the organizers tried to take out procession outside the Imambargah at Dheri Hassanabad which led to a clash.

RPO, Hamid Mukhtar Gondal, MNA Malik Abrar, MPA Chaudhry Muhammad Ayaz, Allama Syed Izhar Hussain Bukhari, Maulana Mehmood ul Hassan Balakoti, Mufti Muhammad Awais, Shahid Nasir, Asif Iqbal, SSP Rana Shahid Pervez, SPCIA, Sultan Chadhar, President Anjuman Tajran, Dheri Hassanabad, Raja Muhammad Ibrahim, Senior Vice President, Zahid Bhatti and General Secretary Malik Masood attended the meeting.

The Commissioner ensured the traders of safety of their lives and property and warned that the anti-social elements would be dealt with iron hands.

Anjuman Tajran informed the meeting about threats from the anti-social elements and asked the government to provide security.

Zahid Saeed said that additional police force would be deployed for the security of traders and he would recommend to the government to pay compensation of their losses.
