LALAMUSA: Information Minister Ch Qamar Zaman Kaira has said the government will overcome economic crisis with the consultation of political parties' leadership.

Talking to journalists at Dera Kaira here on Sunday, Ch Qamar Zaman Kaira said, "There should be no deadlock in politics. The PPP do not believe in the politics of revenge. It is said that the assassination of governor Salmaan Taseer was a political murder for the reason that he was a political personality. Assassination of Benazir Bhutto and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was also a political murder".

"We are not rising fingers towards any political party," he said while he expressed his astonishment over the statement of Nawaz Sharif in which he said the PM saved him and his brother from being implicated in Taseer's murder case. The minister claimed that there was no political prisoner in the PPP rule.

"We respect people's mandate for Mian Nawaz Sharif and his party," the minister said. Responding to a question about alleged pressure from the US for the release of Davis, he said the matter was in court and police were interrogating and the action will be taken according to Pakistani law. He said the government was struggling for the release of Dr Aafia. About Ch Moonis Elahi, he said FIA was working on court directions.
