Bid to blow tower foiled

QUETTA: The bomb disposal squad foiled a bid to blow up tower of a high transmission line in Quetta by defusing the explosive material attached with it in Karani Cross area located along Western Bypass of the city here on Wednesday.

Unidentified men had planted an explosive device with the 66-KV electricity tower of a high transmission line in order to blow it up; spokesman for Quetta Electricity Supply Company (QESCO) Shafqat Ali said.

Earlier, an electricity pylon was damaged in Killi Qambrani area of the provincial capital when unknown men detonated a bomb However, the tower was damaged partially and could not affect power supply to the relevant areas.

LEAs teams rushed to the site and cordon off the area.
