Maryam Nawaz wishes parents on their 47th wedding anniversary

 

Daughter of former premier Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, took to Twitter to wish her parents on their 47th wedding anniversary.

Maryam Nawaz tweeted a picture of her mother cutting the anniversary cake Tuesday morning. 

She captioned that picture: "My parents celebrated their 47th year of togetherness Masha'Allah. Together or far apart, two hearts beat as one. In sickness & in health."

Later on, in another tweet, Maryam clarified that the picture she had shared is of her 'braveheart' mother, Kulsoom Nawaz. 

She wrote: "This is my mother cutting the cake on her bed. She sent the pic to us with a message, 'Insha'Allah we shall be together soon'. Braveheart"

Kulsoom Nawaz has been undergoing chemotherapy in London after being diagnosed with lymphoma, a form cancer of the lymph nodes in the middle of last year.

During the last seven months, Kulsoom Nawaz has undergone a total of six chemotherapy sessions and three surgeries. She was discharged last month after being admitted, after a reappearance of the tumour nodes.

The former premier’s appeal to travel to London has been rejected twice by the accountability court. 

Last year, Nawaz and his wife had celebrated their anniversary together in Lahore.
