Pakistan needs clean, honest leadership: Qureshi

RAWALPINDI: Former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Wednesday said that the case of Raymond Davis is in the court, adding that he would tell the truth if summoned.

Addressing a Rawalpindi Bar, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, “Pakistan needs clean and honest leadership.” He said US never learnt from the past mistakes, adding that the case of Davis was mishandled.

Former foreign minister said that the accountability was used as a tool for getting political benefits in the past. He appreciated the efforts of lawyers for the restoration of both democracy and judiciary.

He said everyone agreed in the independence of judiciary and without the same rule of law can never be maintained.
