5 Khasadar personnel killed, 3 injured in Landikotal
PESHAWAR: Five Khasadar personnel gunned down in a check post at Landikotal and three personnel sustained wounds in firing from militants on the Changai check post.

Unknown militants attacked a Khasadar Force security check post at Changai in Khyber Zakha Khel area in Landikotal here on Wednesday night. The armed militants, who attacked Khasadar Force post, were on board a trailer truck that was on the way to Peshawar from Torkham side, Khasadar Force's sources informed.

The militants ambushed the Khasadar Force personnel when they stopped the trailer for checking. Three Khasadars were killed on the roadside while the others were shot dead in the room of the post, official sources said.

The killed Khasadars were identified as Sailab, Abdul Agha Jan, Gulsher, Amal Jan and Zalimeen. Zaleemen was the nephew of the post commander Hawaldar Abdul Ghaffor Afridi. The two injured were identified as Zala Khan,Toor Dad Khan and Kamal Khan who were rushed to hospital soon after they received bullets injuries. Security forces also pounded the suspected areas of militants with heavy guns after the incident. Khasadar Force personnel also rushed to the spot where the gunbattle was in progress, but attackers had already fled the area.

It merits to mention here that one of the Khasadar Force personnel had complained the other day that APA Landikotal had withheld two months salaries of seven Khasadars appointed on the same Changai check post on the main road which is a usurpation of the rights of the poor personnel of Khasadar Force.

Hundreds of Khasadars were earning millions monthly while the poor ones were performing duties on high security risk check posts in Landikotal, which is not fair, a Khasadar personnel regretted. The corpses of the killed Khasadar personnel were shifted to their homes in Bazaar Zakha Khel for burial.
