ISLAMABAD: Majority of PML-N leaders have supported the proposal to oust PPP ministers from the Punjab cabinet after inconclusive talks between the two parties over 10-point agenda, Geo News reported on Friday.
This was decided in a crucial meeting held under the chair of party chief Nawaz Sharif here. The meeting discussed 10-point agenda and its implementation by the government.
In the meeting, Nawaz Sharif conducted voting on the proposal for ousting the PPP from the Punjab cabinet. The proposal was supported by 350 participants, while only 10 members voted against it. The ratio was 98 percent.
Nawaz Sharif said that final decision would be made according to the will of the party members.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Gilani held a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif at PM House. Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar and Senator Ishaq Dar were also present. The sources said the prime minister and the Punjab chief minister agreed in principle that the political strategy for solving problems through dialogue should be continued instead of confrontation.
Prime Minister Gilani conveyed a message to the PML-N that the PPP government would continue to follow the reconciliation policy even at all odds. The official announcement from the Prime Minister’s House after the meeting stated that the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere. After the meeting with Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister Gilani rushed to the Presidency and held a meeting with President Zardari, updating him on the meeting.(GEO URDU)
