FAISALABAD: University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) will celebrate its golden jubilee by arranging a series of events throughout the year but a one-week mega Spring Festival would start from March 13.
According to a spokesman of the UAF, golden jubilee celebrations will be dedicated to Washington State University (WSU) Pullman, US. In this regards, a delegation from WSU has confirmed its participation in the week-long jubilations.
He said that the UAF had decided to organize various national and international seminars, conferences besides holding an agri exhibition, horse & cattle show, fancy birds & pet show, alumni meet, flower show, IT exhibition, Monsanto job fair, a business plan competition between students of the Department of Business Management Sciences, a food mela, World Water Day and an international strategy seminar on "Performance of UAF since 1961 and vision for next 50 years."
An exhibition of rare photographs of transforming/elevating West Pakistan Agriculture College Lyallpur into University of Agriculture Faisalabad and other mega events will be held during the weeklong activities, he said, adding that the professional society of each faculty, institute and division of the UAF will arrange a cultural night throughout the celebrations.
He said that besides publishing a detailed book on performance of UAF since 1961, the management has desired to commemorate the upcoming issue of students' magazine Kisth-e-Nau Golden Jubilee Number to WSU.
Vice Chancellor UAF Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan has urged the UAF faculty, students and alumni to give suggestions to mark UAF successes, he added. (APP)
