Car bomb explosion kills nine, wounds 32 in City
HANGU: At least nine persons were killed and 32 others injured in a powerful car bomb blast targeting police on Thursday, police said.

DPO Abdul Rashid Khan told reporters that three policemen were also martyred and 12 women and four children are among the injured.

He said the police were checking a suspected car parked on roadside at Aliabad area in Hangu City when a huge explosion occurred. Resultantly, nine persons have been killed and 32 wounded.

The dead include Inspector Islam Khan, Head Constables, Saifullah Khan and Bahaudddin Khan.

According to Bomb Disposal Squad, about 300 kilograms of explosives were dumped in vehicle.

He added that 13 houses and shops damaged due to heavy blast. Police spokesman Fazal Naeem also confirmed the attack and casualties. The blast created a 12 foot deep crater. The critical injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar.

Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has strongly condemned the attack and termed it cowardice act of terrorism. The Chief Minister said that such attacks could not deter government determination in fight against militancy and terrorism.

He prayed Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to members of the bereaved families to bear this irrepairable loss with patience.

He directed the hospital administer to provide better medical facilities to injured.
