Karachi violence leaves 6 dead, 8 hurt
KARACHI: Six people were killed and more than eight others injured in the latest spate of violence and shootings in different parts of the metropolis, Geo News reported Monday.

According to police, armed attackers opened fire on a vehicle near a railway crossing in Paposh Nagar area of Nazimabad, killing a youth identified as Kashif and injuring Zubair.

In a similar incident, a women was shot dead by unknown assailants in Qasba Colony while unknown gunmen fired and killed a man on Clifton Bridge.

Dr. Syed Muhammad Asif was killed when armed assailants opened fire on his vehicle at Rashid Minhas road near Aladin Park and fled from the scene.

In Khada Market area of Lyari attackers shot dead a man named Younis.

A badly tortured body of an unidentified man was recovered from Baloch Para area of Orangi Town.

Eight people were injured separate incidents of firing by unknown armed men in Lyari, Nazimabad, Sir Syed Town, Purana Haji Camp, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Bhitaiabad.

On contacting the authorities said termed the killings in Nazimabad, Rashid Minhar Roand, Clifton and Lyari as incidents of targeted killings. They added that investigation into these incidents has been started.
