RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army Thursday promoted 37 brigadiers to the rank of major general following an approval by the promotion board, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa presided over the meeting of the promotion board, the ISPR said, which considered a total of 987 officers for promotion.
Those promoted included Brigadier Babar Iftikhar, Brigadier Muhammad Ahmed Malik, Brigadier Irfan Arshad, Brigadier Muhammad Shahbaz Khan, Brig Tahir Hameed Shah, Brigadier Irfan Ahmed Malik, Brigadier Raza Ali Khan, Brigadier Zafar Iqbal , Brigadier Zahid Sarwar Malik, Brigadier Kashif Nazir, Brigadier Adnan Asif Jah Shad, Brigadier Muhammad Zahid Khan, Brigadier Ghulam Jafar, Brigadier Muhammad Munir Afsar, Brigadier Yousaf Jamal and Brigadier Ehsan Mehmood Khan.
Brigadier Muhammad Yousaf Majoka, Brigadier Asad Nawaz Janjua, Brigadier Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan, Brigadier Mumtaz Hussain, Brigadier Khurram Sarfraz Khan, Brigadier Nayyar Naseer, Brigadier Amer Ahsan Nawaz, Brigadier Najeeb Ahmed, Brigadier Kamran Khurshid, Brigadier Muhammad Asim Iqbal, Brigadier Muhammad Ayub Ahsan Bhatti and Brigadier Hassan Akhter Kayani were also promoted to the rank of major general.
The board also approved promotion of nine brigadiers from Army Medical Corps.
Those approved from Army Medical Corps included Brigadier Malik Muhammad Masud, Brigadier Salman Asharaf, Brigadier Chaudary Muhammad Qamarul Haq Noor, Brigadier Syed Raza Jafar, Brigadier Khursheed Muhammad Uttra, Brigadier Mrs Shehla Baqai, Brigadier Wasim Alamgir, Brigadier Muhammad Asad Qureshi and Brigadier Rasikh Maqsood.
