PESHAWAR: Four children die and three injured as an explosive device packed in a sack went off suddenly in Jerma village of Kohat district on Wednesday.
"The explosive material was lying in field and children were playing within its vicinity when the explosion occurred ensuing in instant death of four children," informed a security official.
To a question about target of the explosion, the official said it was not ascertained yet.
He said majority of the population of Jerma village are IDPs of Waziristan Agency and most probably the explosive was kept in the field by some dweller of the area.
Meanwhile, injured are rushed to district headquarters hospital where emergency has been declared.
