KARACHI: Abdul Ghaffar Bhutto, an assistant professor who had earlier been dismissed over allegations of harassing women, was on Friday reappointed as the deputy finance director for Directorate Colleges.

The decision to rehire the disgraced professor was made by Sindh's education minister.

Bhutto, the assistant professor, was given the same post during the tenure of former provincial minister Pir Mazharul Haq. He was removed, however, following an inquiry into the allegations of harassment. Then, by the use of influence, he had regained the post during the tenure of Sindh's former education and literacy minister Nisar Khuhro.

However, he was once again removed from the post over claims of receiving bribes from colleges.
