KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Saturday said that the government has no real economic policy other than hiking prices.

In a statement, Bilawal said the government seems to have no particular direction to which to take the economy and criticised them taking the biggest loan from IMF despite making tall claims against it.

He added that PPP also saw serious economic issues in its tenure but never burdened the poor with increased prices.

“It is clear that those who brought prime minister-select [to the office] brought him without any preparation,” Bilawal said.

Imran Khan’s Naya Pakistan has become a nightmare for the poor, the PPP chairman added.

Finance Minister Asad Umar early today spoke about Pakistan approaching the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and said this would be the last time the country seeks a bailout from the lender.
