Intercity transporters fleecing commuters

ISLAMABAD: Commuters of Joharabad-Khushab have strongly protested over the unjust overcharging by the transporters plying vehicles from Pirwadhai Bus Stand to Joharabad.

Talking to this news agency number of commuters told that transporters were overcharging since long but the authorities concerned totally silent over the issue.

Obaid Ahmed a commuter told that total fare charges from Pirwadhai Bus Stand to Joharabad-Khushab is Rs.270 but the transporters are charging Rs.300. He said that It was a total dark in the Federal Capital as the officials of the concerned departments had never taken this issue seriously.

He also informed that all the vehicles plying on the said route were on CNG but time and again fare charges were being increased.

Another commuter Muhammad Qasim told that he was travelling along with his 5 family members and he has to pay Rs.150 as extra charges. He further said that numbers of families have to visit Islamabad either to seeing their children who are studying in different educational institutions.

They appealed the RT Secretary and other concerned officials to take notice of this overcharging and imposed heavy fines on transporters so that no one can dare to violate the rules and regulations set by the authority as well as placate the concerns of poor commuter. (PPI)
