ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday raided the residence of anchor Shahid Masood, sources said, who is absconding in the PTV corruption case.
Masood was appointed PTV chairman in the tenure of Pakistan Peoples Party-led government and is accused of corruption worth around Rs33 million.
Sources informed Geo News that FIA officials raided Masood's residence in Islamabad's Sector F7-1, after they were informed that his vehicle arrived at the residence.
However, it turned out later that Masood's driver was driving the car, who had come to the residence to leave the vehicle there.
Masood had fled a local court in Islamabad on Thursday after it rejected his bail plea in PTV corruption case.
During Thursday's proceedings, the Federal Investigation Agency had argued against Masood’s pre-arrest bail. Special judge central Kamran Basharat Mufti had then read the verdict in the case denying bail to Masood.
But the anchor had fled from the court before the decision was announced.
