57% of Pakistanis rate CJP's performance in past year as commendable: survey

32% of respondents thought the chief justice's performance in the past year was very good, while 25% believed his performance was good.

ISLAMABAD: A recent survey shows that a majority of Pakistanis term the performance of Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Saqib Nisar, in the past one year as commendable.

The survey by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan asked a sample of 1,550 respondents their opinion on the performance of the chief justice in the last year.

57% of respondents rated Justice Saqib Nisar's performance during the past year as commendable (good or bad).

32% of respondents thought the chief justice's performance in the past year was very good, while 25% believed his performance was good.

11% said they believed the top judge's performance was appropriate.

Meanwhile, 14% said his performance was bad, while 13% were of the opinion that his performance was very bad. 5% of respondents said they did not know or gave no response.

The survey was carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan on a nationally representative sample of size 1,550 covering both urban and rural respondents across the country.
