FAISALABAD: A couple have appealed to the chief justice to ensure speedy justice in the kidnap and murder of their British-Pakistani three-year-old son, whose case is being heard by a local court.

The child, Sheheryar, was kidnapped for ransom in 2014 in the D Type colony in Faisalabad and subsequently killed.

The parents approached police who were able to catch the culprits, led by a gangster named Ashraf. The kidnappers admitted to the crime after which a case was registered against them. A local court has been hearing the case since the last four years.

The father said that he been visiting Faisalabad from London since four years to attend hearings in a session court in Faisalabad. He has attended 91 hearings during which nine judges have changed, he lamented.

Moreover, 60 members of British Parliament have also written a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan and asked him to ensure justice is served in the case.
