ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Shah said on Tuesday that if all the “chaotic politicians” are sent into space then the government benches in the National Assembly will be empty.
Addressing the NA, Shah was replying to Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry’s statement about sending some "chaotic politicians" into space while speaking about Pakistan’s space mission.
“There are some politicians who are creating chaos on ground and should be sent to space,” Chaudhry had said in his statement on Monday.
“Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has asked for five years data to send them to space. I request that instead of five years they should ask for the last three, four months.”
Shah continued, “SUPARCO has been told to send chaotic politicians to space and to ensure that once they are sent there they cannot return.”
Pointing towards the government benches, the veteran politician said, “This way the entire that [government] side will be empty because they are the ones that started all the chaos.”
“We are not chaotic, we are peace-loving people who do not call for strikes. They used to climb on containers and we used to make them come down.”
At this moment, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan said, “We should consider the advice by Khursheed Shah.”
Criticising the government, Shah said, “Our friends have renamed the Benazir Bhutto Airport as New Islamabad Airport. Shaheed Benazir Bhutto is a role model for democracy whose opponents even praised.”
He added, “We are not concerned the old airport is being called Noor Khan Airbase, Benazir’s name is associated with democracy.”
“First it was called Quaid’s Pakistan and now it is called Naya Pakistan, this trend has started,” he said.
Speaking to the media outside the National Assembly, Chaudhry said that the 'package' of the ex-opposition leader should be checked, which he was getting from the former government.
"There are two or three people from every party which are spreading chaos on the earth," remarked information minister.
"If the opposition wants then they can also get to meet the aliens," he said.
