ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Yemen Mohammed Mohatar Alashabi called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Wednesday.
According to sources, the Yemeni ambassador and PM Imran discussed relations between Pakistan and Yemen along with the peace process in the Middle-East.
During the meeting, PM Imran said Pakistan wants a peaceful and an acceptable solution to the war, sources said.
According to the sources, the prime minister told the ambassador that if all stakeholders are in agreement then Pakistan can play the role of a mediator in the Yemen peace process.
In his address to the nation on October 24, PM Imran had said Pakistan would act as a mediator in the war between the Houthi rebels and Saudi-led alliance in Yemen.
He had said he would try to get Muslim countries together, besides acting as a "mediator" in the resolution of conflicts between Muslim countries.
