The uncertain future of the Khasadar force

The future of the Khasadar force personnel is uncertain in the Khyber Agency following the merger of erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The force had been established pre-partition by the British and overtime their responsibilities kept on increasing. As the war on terror made its way to Pakistan, personnel from the Khasadar force laid down their lives for the country.

These brave men who stared terror in the face now fear losing their employment after the implementation of a police system in the region.

Personnel from the force have demanded that after the merger of FATA they should be assigned to the Levies force so they are not rendered unemployed.
