GILGIT: Shandur Road connecting Gilgit Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhaw has been opened for light traffic.
Chitral C&W Department sources told Geo News that Shandur traffic has been restored by removing the accumulated snow from Phander to Laspur on the road. However, small four-wheeler vehicles only would be allowed presently. Gilgit-Mastuj Netco Bus Service will start in the next two weeks.
Sources told that Shundur located at an altitude of 12,500 feet high from the sea level still has 5/7 feet of snow. Shaundu Mela take place in the month of July in this world’ highest located natural stadium every year.
