Capital Development Authority (CDA) Deputy Director Muhammad Ayaz Mehsud said on Friday that he was safe and visiting family in Dera Ismail Khan.

“I am with my family in DI Khan and am safe and sound…I had lost my mobile,” Ayaz said in a video message as he thanked authorities for the concern shown.

Earlier, police officials said the CDA deputy director left his office located in Islamabad’s G-6 on Thursday afternoon and was unaccounted for since then.

Sources added that Ayaz’s daughter’s wedding was to take place on Saturday and the deputy director had taken leave till Tuesday.

In a complaint filed at the Aabpara Police Station, his wife stated she had last spoken with Ayaz at 8:00pm on Thursday. He had informed his wife of being in Koran Town, following which his mobiles were switched off.

A joint investigation team had been formed led by SP City Amir Niyazi for the CDA deputy director’s recovery.
