ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Thursday lauded the decision of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to deploy the Rangers personnel to oversee the by-polls in NA-246.
Speaking in Geo News program 'Capital Talk', the PTI heavyweight said the paramilitary force should be stationed inside and outside the polling stations of Karachi constituency NA-246 during the April 23 by election.
"Rangers' deployment at the polling stations would ensure pleasant atmosphere for polls", Qureshi said. He added that troops of the paramilitary force should also conduct patroling in the constituency during the forthcoming by-polls.
Commenting on the formation of Judicial Commission to probe the alleged rigging in May 2013 general elections, Mr. Qureshi praised the role of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for the establishment of the probe body.
"Had Nawaz not been in favour of Judicial Commission, it would not have been formed", Qureshi added.
Endorsing the recent statement of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman, he said the rotten eggs present within the ranks of political parties must be thrown out.
