DUBAI: Batsman Babar Azam, who scored his maiden century on Sunday in the second Test against New Zealand, hit out at cricket presenter Zainab Abbas.
Several, including fans, cricketers and analysts, took to Twitter to congratulate Azam for his maiden ton. However, Zainab’s tweet seems to not have gone down well with the batsman.
"Well played Babar Azam - loved how the boys went congratulating Mickey Arthur celebrating his "son's" century #PakvNZ," Zainab tweeted after Azam's maiden hundred.
The 24-year-old batsman shot back saying, “Think before you say something and don't try to cross your limits!!!”
Azam ended his long wait for a Test hundred at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium with an unbeaten 127 as Pakistan declared their first innings at 418/5.
It was his first hundred in 31 innings in Test cricket and he said it was a big relief getting to the first hundred after falling for nervous nineties.
"It’s a big relief to score first century," said Azam. "Since my childhood I used to hear that scoring a Test hundred is above everything so it was a dream to score a hundred in a Test.”
