Priyanka, Nick reveal details about their first date and wedding

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who are set to tie the knot this weekend, have revealed all about their wedding, the proposal and how they met.

In an interview with Vogue titled “When Priyanka Met Nick: A Love Story”, the US pop singer said he got down on his knee the first time he met Priyanka and that it was a bona fide moment of love at first sight. 

The bended-knee encounter took place at the Vanity Fair Oscars party last year, he explained. “I put my drink down... get on one knee—this is in front of a bunch of people — and I say, ‘You’re real. Where have you been all my life?’ Like, loud.”

Both Priyanka and Nick detailed how they first started talking.

“It was Nick who sent the first message,” Priyanka said and added that the US pop singer slid into her Twitter DMs in 2016 — months before the Oscars.

The Bollywood actor also detailed the proposal, which shocked her. He took her to Crete and she thought it would be a birthday trip.

It was also shared that the singer shut down a Tiffany & Co in London to find her ring and he took it with him to Crete. “I got down on one knee, again, and I said: ‘Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?' Nick said. No joke—she took about 45 seconds. Forty-five seconds of silence.”

Priyanka said she was speechless and then Nick added, “I’m going to put this ring on your finger now unless you have any objections.”

Regarding their wedding Priyanka and Nick said they will have two ceremonies — a traditional Indian wedding and a Christian service officiated by the pop singer’s father.

Each one will be “held in different spots at the palace in Rajasthan”.

There will be three days of celebration. “People will need vacations after this wedding,” Priyanka added.

Nick will dress like royalty, as is customary — turban, sword — and he’ll ride in on a horse.

On the tradition of walking around a fire seven times which stand for seven lifetimes together, Nick said he is of the opinion that they’re on their third lifetime together, possibly even their fourth. Either way, he said, “I’ll take seven more.”
