LAHORE: A visually impaired girl flew all the way from the United States to tie the knot with a former Pakistani visually impaired cricketer in Bahawalpur.

According to details, Brittney Montgomery and Mujeebur Rehman met on Facebook and became friends. Two years ago Montgomery embraced Islam before flying to Bahawalpur and tying the knot with the fast bowler.

However, this is not the first time a woman has flown across the globe to tie the knot with a Pakistani man after meeting on social media.

Earlier this year, Mary Kathleen travelled all the way to Haripur to marry Adeel Awan whom she met on Facebook.

In another social media marriage, a Canadian woman travelled to Pakistan to tie the knot with the love of her life who she met online. Agnetha had met Qaiser Abbas, who hails from Jalalpur Bhattian, on social media and later tied the knot.

A similar incident occurred on November 20, 2017, when a Chinese woman travelled to Pakistan to be with a man from Layyah she met in 2015.
