PM holds consultation on nomination of PAC chairman: sources

The prime minister earlier said govt will not make Shehbaz PAC chairman

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday held consultation on the nomination of chairman of Public Accounts Committee, sources informed Geo News.

Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Leader of the House in Senate Shibli Faraz, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Khan called on the prime minister at his office on Monday, according to sources.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Qasim Suri and PM's aide on political affairs Naeemul Haq.

The sources said the meeting held a detailed exchange of views on political and parliamentary affairs. Consultation was also held on the nomination of the PAC chairman.

Speaking to senior journalists earlier in the day, PM Khan said if the opposition did not wish to move along with the government, then it was its choice.

He, however, maintained the government will not make Shehbaz Sharif the PAC chairman.
