ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Friday said that it is for the first time in the history of the country that an important foreign policy decision has been made by the people of the country in Parliament.
Talking to media in Islamabad today, he said the government greatly honours the resolution on Yemen crisis unanimously passed by Parliament.
He added that unlike in the past, today’s decision was not taken behind closed doors.
He said Pakistan wants to resolve the Yemen crisis peacefully through political and diplomatic means.
Rashid went on to say that the government Pakistan will continue efforts in league with countries of the region for resolving the issue through dialogue.
To a question about the Judicial Commission probing alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections, the Information Minister said the decisions of the Commission will be implemented in letter and in spirit.
However, he further said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan’s ‘fake dharna’ was a flop, adding that whichever bags were opened, even in those Khan’s votes were reduced.
Rashid went on to say “now let’s see which cat comes out of the ‘new bags.’
