FAISALABAD: A fire that had erupted Wednesday night here in a godown in one of the city's markets was brought under control after almost 90 minutes, rescue authorities said.
According to rescue sources, the blaze broke out in a clothing retailer's godown — located on the second floor — in Chiniot Bazaar and spread quickly to the third due to the stock being bedsheets and other cloth-related items.
At least four fire brigade vehicles were engaged in dousing the flames, officials noted, adding that a lot of valuable stock was burnt.
The cause of the blaze was a short circuit, they added.
