ISLAMABAD: Pakistan hockey team manager Hasan Sardar resigned from his post on Monday, after the team’s dismal performance at the recently held 2018 Hockey World Cup.

Sardar’s resignation comes mere days after head coach Tauqeer Dar and assistant coach Danish Kaleem also stepped down from their respective roles.

Announcing his decision, Sardar urged the Pakistan Hockey Federation to improve the fitness of its players, adding that the side was not playing according to global standards.

Pakistan failed to register even a single win in the tournament, with their 1-1 draw against Malaysia being the highlight as they lost all their other three games.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation has formed an investigation committee to look into the reasons for the defeat in the World Cup.
