LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar ordered on Friday that the time of wedding halls should be extended by an hour.
The SC Lahore registry heard a case regarding the extension in the time for wedding halls to hold a function.
During an exchange of words between the CJP and Deputy Commissioner Lahore, the top judge inquired that if an extension can be made in the timings.
The CJP said that the time for marriage halls is between 8pm to 10pm and due to several reasons including traffic jams people fail to reach on time.
The top judge suggested that the timing should be moved to 11 pm. Mayor Lahore, who also appeared before the court, said that this decision should be taken by the DC Lahore.
It is pertinent to mention that the wedding halls in Lahore end the function at 10 pm.
