Police encounter kills seven in Sheikhupura

SHEIKHUPURA: A woman, sub inspector police and five proclaimed offenders were killed in a police encounter in a village Thatta Qadir Shah of Sheikhupura on Saturday, Geo News reported.

Police said the killed woman was the alleged accomplice of wanted criminals.

According to police sources, the wanted criminals had gathered to occupy a land through use of force whom police intercepted which ended up in a shootout.

Also, two real brothers and their cousin were among dead, police claimed.

The encounter lasted for more than six hours in a village in Sheikhupura. Three identified dead men were Salman Mushtaq, his brother Gul Mushtaq and their cousin Yousuf Bhatti while two remained unidentified.

A female associate of criminals sustained injuries in the process that later succumbed to wounds in hospital.

A sub-inspector police martyred in encounter was Rehmat, police said.
