Body of Gujranwala seventh-grader kidnapped last month found in bushes

The kidnappers, Faisal and Qasim, were the deceased boy's neighbours and have been arrested

GUJRANWALA: A minor boy kidnapped last month was found dead Tuesday night in bushes near the Nowshera Virkan tehsil, authorities said, adding that they had arrested the abductors.

According to police, the seventh-grader was abducted for ransom and his kidnappers had demanded Rs1 million for his safe release. The two suspects — identified as Faisal and Qasim — were the deceased boy's neighbours and have been arrested.

The boy, identified as Hanzala Irfan, was kidnapped from outside his residence in Gujranwala's Garjakh neighbourhood. His body was recovered on information provided by the arrested suspects.

The bereaved family had announced a Rs1-million prize for anyone who helped find their son.
