ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed said on Sunday that leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif is seeking amnesty under the National Reconciliation Ordinance and being Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee is the first step in this regard.

The federal minister was speaking in Geo News programme ‘Naya Pakistan’ , where he said that he doesn’t agree with Prime Minister Imran Khan on the issue of PAC chairmanship.

He said that he is willing to pursue the matter in the Supreme Court as he had also been present during the proceedings of the Panama case.

Sheikh Rasheed challenged Shehbaz Sharif to a faceoff on Geo News, where he claimed he will prove that Shehbaz is seeking NRO and being PAC chairman is part of it.

Shehbaz, who is in the custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), was elected as PAC chairman unopposed on December 21. His name for the post of committee chairman was suggested by lawmaker Sheikh Rohail Asghar and confirmed by Mushahid Hussain.
