ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry likened Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb to former Indian actor Rakhee Gulzar.

Chaudhry and Aurangzeb engaged in a heated debate as they appeared on Geo News show Capital Talk on Tuesday night. However, in an interesting turn of events the information minister likened the PML-N leader to Rakhee Gulzar — who towards the late 1980s and 1990s played the role of an elderly mother in several Bollywood films.

“Maryam makes a serious face and does such good acting of a mother that she looks like Rakhee Gulzar. She should be given an award,” Chaudhry said.

In response, the PML-N leader thanked the information minister and said, “I like Rakhee and am glad that you likened me to her.”

However, later, Aurangzeb asked Chaudhry, “Why did you liken me to Rakhee?”

Rakheen is a renowned Indian actor who primarily appeared in Hindi films, as well as in many Bengali films. In her four decades of acting, she won three Filmfare Awards and one National Film Award, apart from several other awards.
