Five overseas cricketers to look out for this PSL

For the rest of the world February 14 might mean hanging out with that significant other, but for Pakistanis, it means the start of the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The month-long cricket extravaganza which promises to showcase the best of the local talent will also feature some of the biggest names in international cricket.

Here are some of the overseas cricketers that we can’t wait to see in action. 

AB de Villiers aka Mr 360 needs no introduction. The flamboyant batsman whose shock retirement from international cricketer last year left many wondering when they will next see the batsman in action, will be making his PSL debut for Lahore Qalandars.

The 34-year-old has also confirmed he will tour Pakistan for Qalandars’ matches scheduled in Lahore. De Villiers will be in action on the opening day of the tournament on February 14 in Dubai, when the Qalandars meet Islamabad United.

Lahore Qalandars seem to have gone all in in getting the best of the cricketing talent from around the world.

New Zealand’s Corey Anderson, who made headlines when he first broke Shahid Afridi's record for the fastest ODI century off just 36 balls, will be entertaining fans in this PSL. 

After representing Lahore Qalandars in the first two editions of PSL, fan favourite Dwayne Bravo will be in action for Quetta Gladiators this season.

One of the most experienced T20 players in the modern era, 'DJ' Bravo will also be bringing his musical talent to the most awaited tournament of the year.

Joining Bravo will be Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, who made quite a name for himself after helping the Gladiators to some memorable wins over the last two editions.

Here’s to us hoping Watson tops the batting charts once again for Quetta Gladiators after scoring 319 runs in 10 matches in the previous season.

Remember the name: Luke Ronchi. The former Kiwi batsman was the most destructive player in PSL 3, with the highest strike-rate among those who have scored at least 200 runs in the tournament.

Ronchi piled 435 runs off 239 balls at a scoring-rate of 182.00, and was instrumental in helping Islamabad United pick their second title.

"I had a phenomenal run in PSL last year and I can't wait to get back into action," said Ronchi about the upcoming edition. The wicket-keeper was also impressed by the hospitality of the people of Karachi.

"I loved the hospitality of the people when we played in Karachi and we managed to create some very special memories by lifting the trophy last year," he added.
